Wonderful Scholarships for Students in Washington for 2024

1. Pat Brown Memorial Scholarship
Provider: College Board
Amount: $1,500
Pat Brown Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Idaho, Oregon, or Washington who are attending a technical school or community college in those states to prepare for a career as an operator in the water environment field.
2. Overcoming Adversity Cariño Scholarship
Provider: Jonnathan Yepez Cariño
Amount: Up to $5,000
The Overcoming Adversity Cariño Scholarship aims to serve and support students who have demonstrated the ability to overcome adversity and fight for their success. Three $5,000 scholarships are available.
3. Otto Bear Memorial Scholarship
Provider: Dave Schmotzer and Lynette Fricke
Amount: Up to $2,500 per recipient
While significant advancements have been made through the various STEM sectors, their full potential hasn’t been unlocked due to a lack of gender diversity that limits the perspectives and unique skills brought to the table. Continuing to grow and improve the STEM industry requires empowering women with STEM-aligned interests as they pursue their education.
The Otto Bear Memorial ScholarshipccI seeks to pay forward the love, kindness, and joy that Otto brought to the world by supporting young women pursuing STEM.
4. Celebrate The West High School Art Competition
Provider: Western Governors’ Association
Amount: Up to $1,200
The Celebrate the West High School Art Competition is a regional art competition that challenges high school students to create works inspired by their state. Submissions are due in April, and winners will be announced at the WGA Annual Meeting in North Dakota.
5. Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Scholarship
Provider: Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington
Amount: $1,500
The Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Scholarship was established in May of 1940 as a way to honor our pioneer ancestors. Each year, two worthy applicants are awarded $1500. In order to be eligible for the scholarship you must be a pioneer descendent and either a full-time junior, senior or graduate student enrolled at an accredited Washington state institution. Preference is given to History, Education, and English majors.
